Woolverstone Ticketing Explained

Woolverstone Ticketing Explained !

If you visit Book online on our website for a particular day. You will find there are several ticket options. Eight in fact, whereas we only have three boats!

It may imply there are tickets available, when that boat is already fully booked.

To add to the confusion, bookings are closed from 31st December!

First of all to clarify. Sailing sessions at Woolverstone can only be booked through the Woolverstone Projects Administrator and are NOT available to book online directly. To meet the demand the Woolverstone sailing sessions are planned and scheduled approximately six months in advance.

Although the tickets show Booking closed on 31st December 2025 23:59  and Was available until 31st December 2025 23:59, there may still be some spaces. Please contact the Projects Administrator for the latest availability.

To accommodate our sailors who attend, either individually  or in a group, we have two ticketing options:-

  • Passenger for groups of sailors and helpers sharing a boat. Fee per person.
  • Exclusive. Sole occupancy by one group. Fixed fee irrespective of passenger numbers.

Some sailors may choose to stay in their wheelchair so we need a wheelchair pass for each Wheelyboat as well. We can only take up to a maximum of three wheelchairs per Wheelyboat.

Which gives us the eight ticket options:-

  • Wheelchair (WCH1) boarding pass. [Three wheelchairs for Wheelyboat one]
  • Wheelchair (WCH2) boarding pass. [Three wheelchairs for Wheelyboat two]
  • Wheelyboat (WB1) passenger. [Up to six passengers for Wheelyboat one]
  • Wheelyboat (WB2) passenger. [Up to six passengers for Wheelyboat two]
  • Wheelyboat (WB1EX) Exclusive Use. [One group of up to six passengers for Wheelyboat one]
  • Wheelyboat (WB2EX) Exclusive Use. [One group of up to six passengers for Wheelyboat two]
  • Sonar passenger [Four passengers sharing] and finally,
  • Sonar Exclusive Use [One group of up to four passengers].

Due to these numerous variables and complexities it is not possible with the current ticketing system to prevent overbooking of the boats with online booking.

Examples

Example 1 - If a group books Wheelyboat (WB1EX) Exclusive Use, 0 remain.

Wheelyboat (WB1) Passenger will show 6 remain even though the boat is already booked and is not available.

Example 2 - If Wheelyboat (WB2EX) Exclusive Use, 1 remain and Wheelyboat (WB2) passenger shows 4 remain.

There are 4 spaces available on Wheelyboat 2.

So why show the tickets on the website?

i) It is useful for our volunteer crews to see who to expect for a particular sessions they may on duty for. By clicking on Show it lists who has booked.

ii) Once you know how it works, you can see what boats may still be available to book.

If you require any further information please contact us.
